Ivy Creek Natural Area
In 1975, after the death of Mary Carr Greer, founding members of the Ivy Creek Foundation worked with The Nature Conservancy to purchase the remaining 80 acres of the family farm, and subsequently another 97 acres of former Carr/Greer land, to protect it from impending development. By 1980, with the aid of federal grants, the City and County had acquired additional land, adding 38 acres bordering the reservoir, bringing the Ivy Creek Natural Area to its present size of 215 acres.
